  • i feel i have entered a wide white space and you are there and not there
    there and not there
i feel i cannot tell and i do not wish to hurt you

Energetic, ranging, and personal, this remarkable second book from Diane Wald is an exploration of how the personal, intellectual, and poetic worlds collide.

Finalist for the 2002 James Laughlin Award

  • Poems of specificity, longing, dream knowledge, and intelligence. Diane Wald’s poems trip you up in their speechy normalcy and take your hand and leap at you and leave you staring hard, different from the experience. A gifted ear and mind sings here.
    Hoa Nguyen
